No. 1: Volkswagen
VW sold 147,826 new cars in 2021 making it the best selling car brand in the UK
No. 2: Audi
With 117,953 units sold in 2021 Audi saw car sales increase by 9.38% compared to 2020
No. 3: BMW
Just fractionally behind Audi in our list is BMW with 116,577 sales, a very small increase on its 2020 sales
No. 4: Ford
In 2020 Ford was the best-selling car brand, but in 2021 the brand saw a drop of over 23% in sales with 116,306 units sold
No. 5: Toyota
The last of the brands to exceed 100k units in 2021 was Toyota selling a total of 100,895
No. 6: Mercedes Benz
Another marque to see a sizeable drop in sales between 2020 and 2021 is Mercedes-Benz. With sales down by almost 12% they saw total sales of 97,945
No. 7: Vauxhall
With 91,452 vehicle sales in 2021 Vauxhall comes in at number 7, having been the sixth best selling car-brand the year previously
No. 8: Kia
Selling over 20,000 more cars than the previous year, Kia saw a total of 90,817 sales in 2021
No. 9: Hyundai
Of all the top 10 best-selling car brands, Hyundai saw the biggest increase between 2020 and 2021. Sales in 2021 were 69,680 a huge 46% increase on the previous year
No. 10: Nissan
Rounding out the top 10, Nissan sold 68,494 cars in 2021, slightly down on their 2020 figures
