What will I need to sell my car on the day of the appointment
On the day, in order that the appointment can run smoothly and we are able to conclude the sale at the appointment there are a few documents that you will need to have ready for us.
Documents to have ready for your appointment
Ensure that you have your vehicle's V5C document ready to show the vehicle purchaser. In order for us to purchase the vehicle it should name you as the registered keeper and list your address as your current address
Have all your identification documents ready. This will need to include photo ID such as your driving licence or passport and an additional proof of address document separate to the V5C such as a utility bill or council tax bill
Have your bank details ready. To process a payment to your bank account we need to see a hardcopy of your bank details, such as your bank card or a recent bank statement
Other things to do ahead of selling your car
Ensure that you have removed all personal belongings from the vehicle. Remember to check all storage areas including the glove compartment, map pockets and door bins. Common items that customers can easily forget about are sunglasses in overhead storage, CDs in the player and mobile charging cables
Remember to remove any parking permits or other passes fixed to your windscreen, as you will need these for your new vehicle
If you have the vehicle's spare key, then attach this to the main key fob
