We are now in the month to celebrate Easter, but the easter eggs we are about to share aren't just chocolate eggs hidden by the easter bunny. These are cool hidden features that can be found somewhere within your car. They are often not advertised but designed to surprise you when you discover them later on.

Over the next few days, you'll probably make yourself sick of the sight of chocolate Easter eggs, but we have ones that are just as exciting and can be found around your car. You must agree that the most exciting thing about playing video games or watching movies is keeping an eye out for hidden messages and secret features. Well, car marketers are now onto this too! Many vehicles are now designed with hidden features and obscure design elements unknown to us when purchasing. So as it's this time of year, we have chosen our top 5 favourite easter eggs found in cars to share with you all.

Volkswagen ID – play and pause pedals

While driving, looking at your feet is not a smart move, and you should always be keeping your eyes on the road, so it's not a surprise if you haven't spotted the play and pause logos on the all-electric Volkswagen ID 3's accelerator and brake. Did you know? This nifty feature was inspired by the old Renault Twingo RS, where they had a pause on the clutch and a stop on the brake.

Skoda – umbrellas

Many manufacturers create hidden easter eggs in their designs, but 'Simply Clever' Skoda didn't do this just for fun. It was explicitly designed thinking about storage and came in very handy for rainy days. Skoda has designed their vehicles to have hidden store aways for your umbrellas, often found under the passenger seat or even in the driver's door.

Vauxhall Corsa – shark dare

You'll find that a few manufacturers feature hidden animals around their cars, but the most notorious must be the shark found in a Vauxhall Corsa. The shark did reach production! One designer bet his employee that he wouldn't be able to sneak a shark motif into the car design and for it to be manufactured. However, he proved him wrong, as now you'll find a cute shark in most modern Vauxhalls – usually on the hinge of the glove box.

Jeep Renegade – Grille

The Jeep Renegade is packed with hidden design elements. Still, our favourite must be the iconic even slot grille and headlights graphic hidden inside the head and taillights, on either side of the rear-view mirror housing, on the speaker surrounds, and inside the tailgate.

Mini Cooper-logo climate controls

Have you ever noticed the controls used to adjust the heat, air, and AC in a Mini Cooper are in the shape of the winged Mini Cooper logo. The Mini logo, used since 2001, is inspired by an earlier logo and features the brand name, written in uppercase letters, placed inside an elegant black circle embedded between the silver wings that symbolize speed and freedom of expression.
