Tips on
defrosting your windscreen
Stay safe this winter with Webuyurcar
The winter mornings have now definitely arrived, many of us face the challenge of defrosting our windscreen daily before heading to work or the school run while in a rush. But it is very important to know some methods which are safe and will not damage your window screen or even get your car stolen. So, the team have come together to create a small tip guide on ways to defrost your windows safely before driving your vehicle.
It’s the Monday morning rush and you put the keys in the engine and you are ready to go, but then the windscreen is iced over, no matter how many times you let the window wipers scrape across the ice. So you rush back in, heat up the kettle ready to pour, but STOP! Did you know that this can be one of the most unsafe ways to defrost your windscreen? The rapid change in temperature could crack your window, we advise you to only use lukewarm water to prevent this from happening. Once you have poured the water on, wipe away the slush with a scraper, and you are ready to go. Many also think running your vehicle with the keys in the ignition and heating on, while you get ready or finish off your Weetabix is a good way to defrost your vehicle. But when doing this have you ever thought of theft or overheating the vehicle? When leaving the vehicle unattended this gives the thieve a perfect opportunity to take the vehicle from right under your nose. Also if the coolant is improperly mixed and the radiator is frozen, this then can cause the car to overheat. Solution: Winter is not so friendly to those who have no choice but to park their vehicles outside. But doing these simple hacks will keep you from having to defrost your car windshields and windows early in the morning. Using your vehicles defroster, heater, air conditioner and then opening windows in quick succession will help clear your vehicles windows and get you safely on the road. As this will help replace the more humid air inside your car with the drier outside air. Vehicle Essentials must buys this winter:
